Joe Biden’s Presidential campaign is rapidly turning into a textbook case of how not to run for office.
And it’s all because Biden himself keeps torpedoing his own campaign on a weekly basis.
And this time, Joe Biden is on thin ice after this devastating scandal broke.
Joe Biden launched himself into the Democratic presidential field with little planning and high expectations.
And so far, it’s been a recipe for disaster for the former Vice President and assumed frontrunner of the Democratic primary field.
After jumping into the race and finding himself at the top of the pack, Biden thought he could just cruise to the nomination and then face off President Donald Trump in the general election next year.
But unfortunately for Biden, his campaign has been anything but a smooth ride.
After a series of massive missteps, gaffes, and debate disasters where Biden has stumbled time and time again, the elder statesman of the Democratic Party is now feeling the heat like never before.
And things are only getting worse for Biden as well, especially with the rise of Elizabeth Warren as the key anti-Biden alternative in the primary field.
But after several public screw ups, Biden’s campaign is now thinking of hiding their candidate from the rest of the public in a desperate attempt to keep him from destroying his own campaign.
The Hill reports, “Allies to Joe Biden have been floating the idea of altering the former vice president’s schedule in an effort to reduce the gaffes he has made in recent days. The allies, growing increasingly nervous about Biden’s verbal flubs, have said it’s an approach that’s been suggested to campaign officials on the heels of the former vice president’s stumbles.”
The problem for Biden’s team however is that these sort of campaign gimmicks rarely work.
Voters want to hear more from candidates, not less.
And pulling Biden away from primary voters in Iowa or New Hampshire is only going to hurt him in the long run.
This is something several of Biden’s close allies seem to realize as well.
“I think you’ll see the same schedule and maybe even more Joe Biden,” one Biden supporter close to the former Vice-President said. “Everyone wants to see Joe Biden be Joe Biden. If he’s held back in any way, that’s almost the antithesis of who he is.”
According to The Hill, that same Biden ally added that they “think it’s the wrong approach” to pull Biden away from more public events.
This may very well be true.
But with Biden making mistake after mistake on the campaign trail, there may be little more that his campaign can do to help their candidate out.
“Trump has pounced on the gaffes, sensing an opening. He accused Biden of not playing with a ‘full deck’ and later took it a step further,” adds The Hill.
Trump slammed Biden on Twitter, accusing him of being unready to run the United States as President.
“Joe Biden just said, ‘We believe in facts, not truth.’ Does anybody really believe he is mentally fit to be president? We are ‘playing’ in a very big and complicated world. Joe doesn’t have a clue!”
The President is completely correct.
