Joe Biden is showing just how feeble his mental capacity is.
He’s collapsing under the stress of the job.
Joe Biden just walked off stage when he was hit with this hard question.
When President Joe Biden met with Russian President Vladimir Putin last month he gave him a list of 16 critical infrastructure “entities” that must be “off-limits” to cyberattacks.
The major problem is that it gave Russia the green light to target any piece of infrastructure not on that list.
“As soon as you draw red circles around things you don’t want Russia to attack, you’re both telling Russia what is most valuable to you and that they can attack anything else without serious consequence.” Rebecca Heinrichs, a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, told Fox News.
“It could actually entice Russia to increase attacks against all the other entities besides those 16 things. We should be complicating Russia’s calculations not making them simpler and certainly not essentially green-lighting any kinds of attacks.” Heinrichs added.
Biden’s list doesn’t seem to have been enough to protect America from Russian linked ransomware groups.
Just before the Fourth of July hundreds of American businesses were hit with a ransomware attack believed to be the largest in history.
The attack is believed to be carried out by the Russia-linked REvil ransomware gang and was “an unusually sophisticated ransomware attack” that “hijacked widely used technology management software from a Miami-based supplier called Kaseya,” Reuters reported. “The attackers changed a Kaseya tool called VSA, used by companies that manage technology at smaller businesses. They then encrypted the files of those providers’ customers simultaneously.”
The group demanded $70 million in Bitcoin for a key they claim will unlock the encrypted data.
When Biden was pressed on whether Putin was testing him with the latest cyberattacks to impact U.S. businesses he walked off stage.
“Mr. President on the latest ransomware attack, can you tell us if you believe that rises to the level of U.S. retaliation?” a reporter asked Biden.
“I can tell you a couple things. I received an update from my national security team this morning.” Biden responded appearing to read his response off of his notes.
“It appears to have caused minimal damage to U.S. businesses, but we’re still gathering information to the full extent of the attack,” Biden continued.“And I’m gonna have more to say about this. In the next several days, we’re getting more detailed information. That’s what I can tell you now, and I feel good about our ability to, ugh…”
Biden turned and walked off stage without answering any more questions.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Tuesday that the Biden administration have “undertaken expert level talks that are continuing, and we expect to have another meeting next week, focused on ransomware attacks.”
