Biden is trying too hard to win over the radical protesters onto his side.
His confused statement backfired majorly.
Joe Biden made one terrible mistake on Live TV that will cost him black votes.
There’s no reason for Joe Biden to be confused about the impact of the Civil Rights movement.
Joe Biden was born in 1942 and should be able to remember historic events and changes that happened within his lifetime.
While many of the legal changes had already been made to make sure that blacks were treated equally in the sight of the law, the death of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. changed the minds of many Americans about the civil rights movement.
The civil rights movement made Americans view that equality and justice were something to be desired.
The civil rights made positive changes to American society but the current protests are not working towards a productive goal.
The protesters are not working towards reform or equality, they’re just working to tear down the system.
The death of George Floyd is a tragic incident but Americans need to consider the statistics and numbers to see if racism in policing is actually happening.
A Harvard professor did an in depth look at the number in 2016 and found there was no racial bias in police shootings.
Police reform is always needed. The Founding Fathers knew that authority figures need accountability otherwise they misuse their power.
Defunding the police is madness.
Yet Joe Biden claimed that the death of George Floyd is having a bigger impact than the death of Martin Luther King Jr.
“I came back from law school when Dr. King was assassinated,” Biden said. “And when I came back, my city is the only city in America occupied by the National Guard since Reconstruction, because a significant portion was burned to the ground.”
“But even Dr. King’s assassination did not have the worldwide impact that George Floyd’s death did,” Biden continued. “Because just like television changed the Civil Rights Movement for the better when they saw Bull Connor and his dogs ripping the clothes off of elderly black women going to church and fire hoses ripping the skin off of young kids – all those folks around the country who didn’t have any black populations heard about this, but didn’t believe it but they saw it. It was impossible to close their eyes. Well, with George Floyd, what happened to George Floyd, now you got how many people around the country? Millions of cellphones. It’s changed the way everybody’s looking at this. Look at the millions of people marching around the world, the world.”
Burgess Owens, a former NFL player who is currently running as a Republican for Congress hammered Biden on Twitter.
“Spoken like a man still fighting for segregation after Martin Luther king Jr was assassinated. Maybe it didn’t change anything in you, but Martin Luther king Jr changed the world.” said Owens.
It’s not smart as a Democrat to dismiss the lasting impact of the civil rights movement to support the current protests that were often violent.
However, since Biden is a Democrat the mainstream media will do their best to sweep Joe Biden’s statement under the rug because the media will do everything possible to make sure that Biden wins the election.
