All hell is breaking loose in the 2020 Presidential election.
The “experts” all expected Joe Biden to run away with the contest and trounce President Trump.
Now Joe Biden got the surprise of his life when he saw the results of one new poll.
In 2008 Iowa propelled Barack Obama to the Presidency.
Obama’s stunning victory over Hillary Clinton in the caucus previewed the Obama blowout in November.
In 2016 then-candidate Trump’s campaign identified Iowa as one of their “core four” states that were must-wins.
Iowa was ground zero for working-class Americans turning out en masse for Trump and flipping blue states to red.
When President Trump confronted China over unfair trade deals that handicapped American workers political pundits thought this was a blunder that would cost him Iowa as the Chinese retaliated by halting the purchase of agriculture products in order to inflict pain on the economies of states like Iowa to force the President to buckle.
But just like in 2016, the experts were wrong.
A brand new Des Moines Register poll shows Donald Trump is more popular than ever.
The Des Moines Register reports, “Fifty percent of Iowans approve of the job he’s doing as president, a 4 percentage point rise from February 2019. The milestone is buoyed by fellow Republicans (94% approval), men (60%), evangelicals (63%), rural Iowans (68%) and those making $100,000 a year or more (57%).”
The new Des Moines Register poll also shows President Trump on track for as big a blowout win over either Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders as he achieved against Hillary Clinton in 2016.
“It’s a positive showing as Trump seeks to win a second term in office. He flipped Iowa in 2016 after the state voted for President Barack Obama twice, and Iowa voters are leaning his way this year, too. More than 50% of likely general election voters said they would support him if the election were held today, while top Democratic contenders Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders each have the support of 41% of Iowa voters,” The Des Moines Register reports.
The fake news media also regularly claims that President Trump’s approval numbers are static and can never turn for the better.
That is also a lie as evidenced by the Des Moines Register poll’s findings.
“Trump’s latest numbers overshadow his lowest approval rating of 35% — about a year into his presidency, in December 2017 — then coupled with a 60% disapproval. That Iowa Poll also showed just 29% of respondents felt the country was moving in the right direction, while 60% felt it wasn’t,” the Register wrote.
The fake news media frames the 2020 election as the American people having turned against the President and Donald Trump is a decided underdog against Joe Biden.
But if Donald Trump’s political standing has improved in states like Iowa the President enters his re-election on much firmer footing than the fake news media likes to suggest.
