Joe Biden got some bad news.
This latest catastrophe was a completely self inflicted move.
Joe Biden suffered a humiliating defeat after making one huge mistake.
One of Joe Biden’s key priorities it to expand the power of union bosses.
Biden’s supporting the so-called “PRO Act” which would end the ability to 59 million Americans to work as independent contractors would instead classify them as employees to increase union membership.
Union bosses claw forced dues out of workers paychecks and fund Democrat Party campaigns, so the greater the union membership, the more money available to flow into the campaign war chests of Democrat politicians and interests groups.
Another key battlefront in Biden’s bid to expand the power of unions was a push in Alabama to unionize the workers at Amazon warehouse.
The South is a bastion of Right to Work States – where laws prevent compulsory union membership as a condition of employment – and Democrats want to destroy this firewall against union power.
But after a hotly contested vote the Union bosses and Joe Biden lost a landslide 71 percent to 29 percent vote.
The Associated Press reported:
After months of aggressive campaigning from both sides, 1,798 warehouse workers ultimately rejected the union while 738 voted in favor of it, according to the National Labor Relations Board, which is overseeing the process.
Of the 3,117 votes cast, 76 were voided for being filled out incorrectly and 505 were contested by either Amazon or the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, which led the organizing efforts in Bessemer. But the NLRB said the contested votes were not enough to sway the outcome. About 53% of the nearly 6,000 workers cast their ballots.
Joe Biden put his political capitol on the line in this vote tweeting out a video expressing his support for the union bosses in an unheard of move by an American President.
“Today and over the next few days and weeks, workers in Alabama and all across America are voting on whether to organize a union in their workplace,” Biden said in a video shared on Twitter. “This is vitally important — a vitally important choice, as America grapples with the deadly pandemic, the economic crisis and the reckoning on race — what it reveals is the deep disparities that still exist in our country.”
Joe Biden promised to be a centrist that would unite the nation.
But Biden siding against workers to advance the union bosses agenda because it increases the financial firepower available to Democrats every election season represents the politics of division.
Biden claims his economic agenda is based on supporting the middle class.
But in reality Biden wants to make middle class workers poorer by gutting right to work laws which drive up the costs for companies and enriching union bosses as part of a campaign payoff.
It’s not just the union bosses that own this defeat in Alabama.
Joe Biden showed he was a paper tiger with no sway over workers when the Amazon warehouse employees rejected Joe Biden’s call for unionization.
