Joe Biden truly thinks that he did a good job withdrawing from Afghanistan.
He’s become completely delusional in his thinking.
Joe Biden tried to dismiss a deadly disaster with a bizarre defense.
It’s completely obvious that America totally bungled the way we withdrew from Afghanistan.
Thousands of Americans are trapped in a country that has been taken over by terrorists.
For many Afghans the Taliban takeover will result in their torture, rape and murder.
There are reports that the Taliban is targeting translators who worked with the United States Army and Christians.
On Monday there was chaos when thousands stormed the tarmac, desperate to escape.
People clung to US military planes as they left the ground, only to fall to their deaths moments later.
But according to President Joe Biden that isn’t important since it was “four days ago, five days ago” before the U.S. had control of the airport.
ABC host George Stephanopoulos asked, “[W]e’ve all seen the pictures. We’ve seen those hundreds of people packed into a C-17. We’ve seen Afghans falling –.”
Stephanopoulos then asked, “What did you think when you first saw those pictures?”
Biden answered, “What I thought was, we have to gain control of this. We have to move this more quickly. We have to move in a way in which we can take control of that airport. And we did.”
However the Taliban is at the airport gates and is controlling who can get into the airport.
Biden hasn’t actually come up with a solution that will allow America to get our citizens and allies out.
Even around the airport people are still dying.
Since Sunday 12 people have been killed in and around the airport in Kabul according to Reuters.
America is trusting the Taliban to give out citizens’ safe passage to the airport.
Biden told Stephanopoulos that the Taliban had been through an, “existential crisis.”
“Let me put it this way,” the president said. “I think they’re going through sort of an existential crisis about do they want to be recognized by the international community as being a legitimate government. I’m not sure they do.”
Stephanopoulos doubted Biden’s claim noting that the Taliban could care about “their beliefs more.”
Biden agreed but then praised the Taliban for providing “safe passage for Americans to get out.”
“But they also care about whether they have food to eat, whether they have an income that they can provide for their – that they can make any money and run an economy,” Biden said. “They care about whether or not they can hold together the society that they in fact say they care so much about.”
“I’m not counting on any of that. I’m not – but that is part of what I think is going on right now in terms of I – I’m not sure I would’ve predicted, George, nor would you or anyone else, that when we decided to leave that they’d provide safe passage for Americans to get out,” he continued.
The bigger question is why Biden is trusting the lives of Americans in the Taliban’s hands.
Unlike America, British paratroopers are leaving the airport, going into Kabul to rescue and evacuate some of their citizens who are trapped [and] can’t get to the airport because of the Taliban.
