Former Vice President Joe Biden can’t get out of his own way on the campaign trail.
But now the Biden campaign is facing its greatest crisis.
And Joe Biden was caught by Fox News in one video that just changed everything.
Joe Biden’s declining mental health is a major story of this Presidential cycle.
Biden can’t remember names, dates or places.
Some Americans believe he is suffering from afflictions that harm memory.
Those questions roared to the forefront of the Presidential campaign when in an exchange with Fox News, Biden falsely claimed he supported the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.
Fox News reported on the exchange:
“As commander in chief, if you were ever handed a piece of intelligence that said you could stop an imminent attack on Americans — but you have to use an airstrike to take out a terrorist leader — would you pull the trigger?” Fox News asked Biden.
“Well we did – the guy’s name was Usama bin Laden,” Biden replied.
“Didn’t you tell President Obama not to go after bin Laden that day?” Fox News followed up.
“No, I didn’t,” Biden said.
But in 2012 at a Democrat Party strategy retreat, Biden told a different story of how he opposed the Navy SEAL missions that resulted in bringing ultimate justice to Bin Laden.
“The president, he went around the table with all the senior people, including the chiefs of staff, and he said, ‘I have to make a decision. What is your opinion?’ He started with the national security advisor, the Secretary of State, and he ended with me,” Biden recalled. “He said, ‘Joe, what do you think?’ And I said … ‘Mr. President, my suggestion is, don’t go,’” Biden told the assembled crowd of Congressional Democrats.
Biden’s fighting against killing Bin Laden became a major campaign issue after Biden criticized President Trump for ordering a drone strike that killed top Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.
The former Vice President either lied or couldn’t remember his previous opposition to the raid that killed Bin Laden due to a deteriorating memory.
Neither one reflects well on Biden’s capacity to serve as president.
This comes at a time as Biden’s Democrat rivals are beginning to question Biden’s nearly 50 year-long record of being wrong about everything.
Biden supported the disastrous wars in Iraq and Libya.
The former Vice President also doesn’t have the courage or the conviction to support ordering missions that result in the deaths of terrorist leaders.
But it isn’t just foreign policy where Biden’s blunders are now coming under closer examination.
Biden helped kill the American middle class by shipping jobs overseas with his vote to support the North American Free Trade Agreement.
And in 2008, Biden forked over nearly a trillion dollars to Wall Street by supporting the TARP bailout.
Biden is running on the claim that he is ready to lead on day one.
But Biden’s decades-long record of failures, mistakes and betrayals of the American workers paints a picture of a dangerously incompetent career politician that advanced in politics by failing upwards.
