Former National Security Advisor John Bolton tried to bring down President Trump.
And that’s because John Bolton’s impeachment leak was shut down by the last person he ever expected.
The Senate trial over the impeachment and possible removal of President Donald Trump is well underway.
And while Trump was not allowed a voice or witnesses in the Democratic-controlled House, he is sure to be acquitted of all false charges in the Republican-controlled Senate.
But now, the left thinks they’ve thrown another wrench into Trump’s defense with the release of a new book penned by former National Security Advisor John Bolton.
Bolton’s leaked manuscript is said to contain incriminating evidence regarding the President’s dealings with the Ukrainian government.
The left is trying to frame Trump as a corrupt politician who attempted a quid pro quo with a foreign power, but it couldn’t be further from the truth.
And now, Trump’s legal team just released a shocking statement regarding Bolton’s book.
When asked about the manuscript, the legal team dismissed the book as mere speculation, stating that the accounts detailed in Bolton’s book were merely “allegations that are not based on evidentiary standards.”
Fox News reports:
“We deal with transcript evidence, we deal with publicly available information,” Sekulow said on the Senate floor. “We do not deal with speculation, allegations that are not based on evidentiary standards at all.”
The President spoke out against the book and Bolton’s outrageous claims as well.
“I NEVER told John Bolton that the aid to Ukraine was tied to investigations into Democrats, including the Bidens,” Trump tweeted. “In fact, he never complained about this at the time of his very public termination. If John Bolton said this, it was only to sell a book.”
Many in the Senate are also dismissing the book as mere lies, not factual evidence that could be used in the court of law.
“Really, there’s nothing new here,” said Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming, the No. 3 Republican. He dismissed the new information as an “effort to sell books.”
And while some want to stir up more trouble and bring Bolton in as a witness, the majority of the Senate are denying any of the book’s contents as factual evidence.
Others, Like Senator Mitt Romney are siding with the left and working to further corrupt and prolong the case.
Democrats are demanding sworn testimony from Bolton and other key witnesses, and pressure is mounting on at least four Republicans to buck GOP leaders and form a bipartisan majority to force the issue.
“John Bolton’s relevance to our decision has become increasingly clear,” GOP Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah told reporters. Sen. Susan Collins of Maine said she has always wanted “the opportunity for witnesses” and the report about Bolton’s book “strengthens the case.”
But President Trump and his legal team won’t back down. He has the support of the Senate majority, and the support of the country.
