It was another rough day at the office for Kamala Harris.
Harris never saw this ambush coming.
And Kamala Harris lost it on national TV when confronted with this truth.
The day after Joe Biden’s extremely low rated address to Congress, Kamala Harris hit the interview circuit to try and drum up support for Joe Biden’s plans to turn American into a cradle to grave socialist welfare state.
Harris’ team scheduled an interview with ABC’s “Good Morning America” figuring that former top Clinton aide and current anchor George Stephanopoulos would toss out a series of softball questions and call it a day.
But even this proved too challenging for Harris.
Stephanopoulos tried to get Harris’ reaction to South Carolina Senator Tim Scott’s Republican response to Biden’s speech.
Scott- who is the Senate’s only black Republican –rejected the claim made by Joe Biden and many on the left that America is a systemically racist nation.
When pressed by Stephanopoulos, Harris knew she was trapped.
If Harris declared that America was a racist nation it could alienate swing voters when Harris ran for President in 2024 or 2028.
But if Harris agreed with Scott that America was not a racist nation it would turn off large swaths of the Democrats Party base that grew increasingly strident on issues of race and believe America’s institutions were designed to oppress minorities.
Harris tried to split the baby and claim she agreed with Scott that America was not racist while also saying America owned a history of racism.
“I believe that we need to come up, well first of all, no I don’t think America is a racist country,” Harris told Stephanopoulos. “But we also do have to speak truth about the history of racism in our country, and it’s existence today.”
Harris praised Biden for “always having the ability and the courage, frankly, to speak the truth about it. He spoke what we know from the intelligence community, one of the greatest threats to our national security is domestic terrorism manifested by white supremacists.”
Harris claimed that America could only “heal” by confronting its history of systemic racism, and that Biden continually calling out institutions in America for their inherent racism could supposedly “unite” the country.
“And so these are issues that we must confront, and it does not help to heal our country, to unify us as a people, to ignore the realities of that,” Harris added. “And I think the president has been outstanding, and a real national leader on the issue of saying let’s confront the realities, and let’s deal with it, knowing we all have so much more in common than what separates us, and the idea is that we want to unify the country, but not without speaking truth and requiring accountability as appropriate.”
