Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wasted no time in making herself one of the biggest names in Washington.
Ocasio-Cortez succeeded in pushing the Democrat Party farther towards socialism.
But her career is about to turn on a dime and you won’t believe who is about to kick Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez out of Congress.
During a recent White House coronavirus task force press briefing President Trump joked that native New Yorker Dr. Anthony Fauci should run for Ocasio-Cortez’s seat in New York’s 14th Congressional District.
“I told Tony Fauci, why don’t you move to New York, run against AOC, you will win easily,” Trump told the press. “He’s decided that he’s not going to do that.”
“I kid,” the President added.
But Ocasio-Cortez does have an opponent in the Democrat primary.
Former CNBC anchor Michelle Caruso-Cabrera entered the race and is running as what passes for a mainstream Democrat that supports capitalism.
Ocasio-Cortez’s strong support socialism drew powerful enemies in Washington.
And the Chamber of Commerce – which usually funds pro-open borders, Never Trump Swamp Republican candidates – announced it would back Caruso-Cabrera’s candidacy.
Scott Reed – the establishment strategist that directs the Chamber’s political activities – praised Caruso-Cabrera’s candidacy.
“Michelle is one of the most qualified and competent candidates we have met with this cycle. Her communication skills on jobs and growth will create a clear contrast with AOC,” Reed explained “We plan on using our national network to get her the financial resources to win this race.”
POLITICO reported that the Chamber planned to fundraise for Caruso-Cabrera’s campaign and that the challenger had already raked in one million dollars in campaign contributions branding her a serious candidate:
A source familiar with the Chamber’s plans said the group will raise money for Caruso-Cabrera and mobilize the local Queens business community ahead of the June 23 primary. Caruso-Cabrera, who is attempting to tap into intense dislike of the incumbent among moderate Democrats, has already demonstrated an ability to raise money.
A person close to Caruso-Cabrera said she raised over $1 million during her first 47 days in the race, a substantial sum that is expected to be reflected in finance reports to be filed next week.
Socialism may be popular on Twitter and with younger Democrats and fake news reporters.
But it proved to be a political loser in the Democrat 2020 primary cycle.
When it looked like Bernie Sanders built what appeared to be unstoppable momentum towards capturing the Democrat Party nomination Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar dropped out of the race.
The entire Democrat Party establishment endorsed Joe Biden after his South Carolina primary win which set him off to the races.
Democrats feared Sanders brand of socialism would mark him as a guaranteed loser in the General Election.
But some Conservatives and Trump supporters are glad the Chamber of Commerce is spending what is likely to be a fool’s errand in trying to defeat Ocasio-Cortez in a Democrat primary.
That means the Chamber has less resources to spend on behalf of pro-open borders Never Trump RINOs in GOP primaries.
Conservative Revival will keep you up to date on any new developments in the 2020 election.
