Fox News is playing dirty in its fight with Tucker Carlson.
The network is enlisting some unlikely allies.
And Fox News declared war on Tucker Carlson with this jaw-dropping leak.
Just as Megyn Kelly predicted, Fox News colluded with its fellow corporate media outlets to smear Tucker Carlson.
Fox News fed the latest leak to slime Carlson as a racist to The New York Times, a paper that routinely attacked Fox News as a propaganda outfit for Donald Trump and the Republican Party.
But now Fox News and the Times are on the same side in trying to destroy Carlson’s name and reputation to damage the ability of Carlson’s next venture to create a platform for Carlson to share his views on the events of the day with a mass audience.
Fox News leaked a text to the Times — which the Times dubiously claimed got Carlson fired — where Carlson texted a producer on January 7, 2021, describing his feelings watching a video of three men that Carlson identified as “Trump guys” beating up an Antifa member.
The Times played up the race angle — which is exactly what Fox News executives likely hoped would happen when they leaked the messages in the first place.
“A couple of weeks ago, I was watching video of people fighting on the street in Washington. A group of Trump guys surrounded an Antifa kid and started pounding the living s— out of him. It was three against one, at least. Jumping a guy like that is dishonorable obviously. It’s not how white men fight,” Carlson wrote his producer.
The Times then glossed off the self-reflective nature of the message where Carlson began to question his own humanity as he grew excited watching the Antifa member take a beating.
But what brought Carlson back from the edge was Carlson realizing that even though the person was an Antifa member they still had a family that cared deeply about them and would be devastated if anything bad happened to them.
Carlson concluded by stating that he wanted to be better than the left and no one should reduce other people’s value on this earth to their political beliefs.
“Yet suddenly I found myself rooting for the mob against the man, hoping they’d hit him harder, kill him. I really wanted them to hurt the kid. I could taste it. Then somewhere deep in my brain, an alarm went off: this isn’t good for me. I’m becoming something I don’t want to be. The Antifa creep is a human being. Much as I despise what he says and does, much as I’m sure I’d hate him personally if I knew him, I shouldn’t gloat over his suffering. I should be bothered by it. I should remember that somewhere somebody probably loves this kid, and would be crushed if he was killed. If I don’t care about those things, if I reduce people to their politics, how am I better than he is?” Carlson added.
This was the latest leak by Fox.
Fox News ran something of a conveyor belt of behind-the-scenes footage to left-wing activist group Media Matters of a jocular Carlson snapping jokes with his staff and cursing his exasperation with guests whose answers he found insulting.

They tried to smear him, but their Tucker Derangement Syndrome blinded them to the fact that this makes him relatable.@TuckerCarlson pic.twitter.com/hDb72vml1W

Media Matters exists to attack Fox News and pressure advertisers and cable companies to drop Fox News.
But Fox had no problem showing it was really on the same side as Media Matters — and The New York Times — with these leaks.
The scheme backfired, however, as Carlson came off as an utterly relatable, three-dimensional human being whereas the leakers at Fox News looked like cowardly and craven backstabbers.
