Maxine Waters isn’t done with impeachment just yet.
Even after the Mueller report blew her plans apart, she’s still trying to take down President Trump.
And this latest comment just ignited an impeachment firestorm like nothing before.
Maxine Waters is at it again.
The California Democrat who has spent the past two years pushing for impeachment even where there has been no case at all is now trying to bring it back from the dead.
Even after the Mueller report cleared Trump of any wrongdoing in the 2016 election, Waters continued to demand that Trump be removed from office by impeachment.
And that’s just the start of it.
Waters has also called for violence against President Trump and his supporters in public, demanding that liberals confront them in gas stations and restaurants and drive them out of public places.
She’s even declared that after Trump is impeached, she wants to see Mike Pence impeached as well, for no other reason than the fact that he’s Trump’s Vice President.
Waters is deranged, but she holds tremendous amounts of power within the Democratic Party.
And her words help illustrate where Democrats are currently at with their thoughts about impeachment.
And it’s clear it’s making a comeback like never before.
The Hill reports, “Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) slammed President Trump Friday, saying he has ‘done everything that one could even think of’ to trigger an impeachment vote in the House.”
“I’ve always believed that if the information about this president and his involvement with Russia and [Russian President Vladimir] Putin and the oligarchs and the Kremlin and if we — but look at [special counsel Robert] Mueller’s report and see where he clearly defines that he’s obstructed justice, that people will increasingly come to the conclusion that impeachment is inevitable,” said Waters.
Waters is working harder than ever to flip her party into pushing for impeachment.
And her latest push could tear the party apart.
“This president has done everything that one could even think of to be eligible for impeachment,” Waters said.
If Democrats impeach Trump though, they will suffer an electoral backlash of the century.
And Nancy Pelosi knows this.
That’s why she’s been so hesitant to push for impeachment because she knows the costs involved far outweigh the benefits.
And Pelosi also knows the votes aren’t there to remove Trump from office.
Several Republican Senators would have to cross over and vote with the Democrats to remove Trump as President.
And while a few may, there’s not enough of them to see Trump ousted from office.
Democrats are instead planning to simply remove Trump the old-fashioned way, by beating him in the 2020 presidential election.
But that isn’t stopping Waters.
“Waters’s calls for impeachment have largely fallen on deaf ears among the House leadership, which has warned of possible partisan backlash and the potential it has to consolidate Trump’s base. However, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) appeared to crack open the door this week to the prospect,” adds the Hill.
“We have to exhaust every other remedy on the way and again use the tools at our disposal even if that means saying one possible use of this investigation might be impeachment, even though I don’t want to go to that place,” she said.
