Maxine Waters has some bad news for Donald Trump.
The California Democrat is gunning for his impeachment.
And Waters just revealed the next target on her hit list and Donald Trump will be furious.
Immediately after the Michael Cohen circus closed down, Maxine Waters announced her intention to launch a new investigation into President Trump centered on his now defunct charitable foundation.
The Washington Post made the foundation one of their causes in the 2016 election to frame the President as a fraud who didn’t give money to charity like he claimed.
Voters dismissed the Post’s angry, axe-to-grind “reporting” and elected Trump anyway.
Cohen ripped that band aide off when he alleged Trump arranged for a straw purchaser to buy a portrait of him at an auction and allegedly reimbursed the individual with funds from the Trump Foundation.
“Mr. Trump directed me to find a straw bidder to purchase a portrait of him that was being auctioned at an Art Hamptons Event. The objective was to ensure that his portrait, which was going to be auctioned last, would go for the highest price of any portrait that afternoon. The portrait was purchased by the fake bidder for $60,000. Mr. Trump directed the Trump Foundation, which is supposed to be a charitable organization, to repay the fake bidder, despite keeping the art for himself. Please see Exhibit 3B to my testimony,” Cohen testified.
Waters pounced on this testimony to announce her intentions to terrorize the President.
“I think that’s an area that should be looked at because I think the foundation has been used by him to avoid paying taxes,” Waters told a group of reporters.
Trump wanted to shut the foundation down after he won the election, but New York’s Attorney General’s office refused because it had been harassing the President with a politically motivated investigation at the time.
They finally relented and Trump closed the foundation down last year.
But Waters sees the foundation as another chance to launch a fishing expedition where – at the very least – she can generate embarrassing headlines during the President’s re-election campaign.
At this same gathering, Waters announced her intentions to press ahead with investigating her conspiracy theory about Deutsche Bank, Russia, and money laundering.
“They’re just now being cooperative; they had not been,” Waters stated. “But now that I have the chairmanship and we’re in the majority … yes, they have offered to cooperate and my staff have just started to work with them to get the documents.”
Watters offered this declaration despite Michael Cohen presenting her with a significant defeat in his testimony.
Cohen presented financial statements from Donald Trump when he sought a loan from Deutsche Bank to buy the NFL’s Buffalo Bills.
Cohen never alleged Trump laundered money nor that the Russians were involved through Deutsche Bank.
Considering he accused Trump of everything else under the sun, if he had even the thinnest reed to hang accusations of money laundering and Russia on, Cohen would have said so by now.
