Megyn Kelly continues to try and stage a comeback.
The former Fox News anchor inserted herself into one of the biggest scandals sweeping over Washington.
And Megyn Kelly hit Democrats with this one truth that has everyone asking what happens next.
Recently, Rachel Maddow stunned viewers with an impassioned monologue attacking her bosses at NBC News for trying to cover up sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein and former “Today Show” host Matt Lauer.
“The allegations about the behavior of Harvey Weinstein and Matt Lauer are gut-wrenching,” Ms. Maddow exclaimed. “But accusations that people in positions of authority in this building may have been complicit in some way in shielding those guys from accountability — those accusations are very, very hard to stomach.”
Maddow took issue with reporting in Ronan Farrow’s new book “Catch and Kill” detailing how NBC bought the silence of women who made allegations against Lauer with secret settlements and nondisclosure agreements.
“As far as we can tell, there has never been an independent investigation of that,” Maddow added. “So until there is an independent investigation — if there’s ever going to be one — that remains NBC’s word versus Ronan Farrow’s reporting and assertions.”
In recent memory no one could remember a media personality as high profile as Maddow criticizing their bosses on air in such a manner.
NBC quickly responded to Maddow’s monologue.
The network released a statement saying any former employee that signed a nondisclosure agreement should contact the network and NBC would honor any request to be released from their settlement agreement.
“Any former NBC News employee who believes that they cannot disclose their experience with sexual harassment as a result of a confidentiality or non-disparagement provision in their separation agreement should contact NBCUniversal and we will release them from that perceived obligation,” the statement said.
Maddow’s monologue was just the tip of the iceberg.
Within days of Maddow’s explosive on-air commentary, former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly announced that the sexual harassment scandal at NBC was far worse than even Ronan Farrow reported and that more accusers would be coming forward.
“Sources tell me: more NBC harassment victims are coming fwd behind the scenes. If u are a victim or have info re: a sex harassment situation at NBC – whether you’ve filed a claim or not – Silence Breakers confirms it is offering confidential support,” Kelly tweeted.
As part of Kelly’s comeback attempt she is making sexual harassment in media workplaces a centerpiece of her new public profile.
Kelly played a key role in Roger Ailes’ ouster from Fox News.
It was Kelly’s testimony in an internal investigation that Ailes sexually harassed her that proved to be the tipping point in Fox News finally pushing Ailes out.
The liberal media cheered Kelly as a hero for her role in Ailes’ downfall.
After leaving Fox, Kelly jumped to NBC News.
NBC fired her in the fall of 2018 and it would be quite the turn of events if Kelly now helps take down high ranking executives at a liberal network.
