Former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly’s emerged as a player in the impeachment witch hunt.
Because of her past feud with Donald Trump, many pundits expected Kelly to try and damage the President.
And then Megyn Kelly shut down this impeachment rumor with one harsh reality check.
Mark Zaid – one of the lawyers representing the so-called “whistleblower” – that some media reports allege is CIA official Eric Ciaramella – is now under the microscope.
Conservatives began scrutinizing Zaid when ABC broke the news last month that a supposed second whistleblower stepped forward to corroborate the first so-called “whistleblower’s” account.
Talk show host Mark Levin connected the fact that both fake “whistleblowers” were represented by Zaid’s firm and deduced that this entire ”scandal” was nothing more than a scripted operation to take down President Trump by manufacturing phony impeachable offenses.
“Since the first so-called whistleblower flopped, now the same lawyers reportedly and suddenly have a second so-called whistleblower. The choreography with this leftwing law firm, the Democrats, and the media goes on. But we all have the transcript of the phone call,” Levin began.
“So why does it matter how many so-called whistleblowers are paraded out by this law firm? This is all about trying to create the impression of a scandal. Trying to influence public opinion,” Levin continued, “Trying to pick off congressional Republicans. Trying to build momentum toward impeachment.”
Zaid denied this was the case and even received backup on social media from Megyn Kelly.
“FWIW, I’ve known Mark Zaid for a long time (same law school) and in my experience he’s always been a straight shooter,” Kelly tweeted in response.
But that was not the final word on this story.
Trump supporters and actual journalists continued to dig into Zaid’s background and the unearthed disturbing tweets from 2017.
Barely two weeks after Donald Trump assumed the Presidency, Zaid tweeted that a coup was in its early stages and Zaid confidently predicted that it would lead to Congress impeaching the President.
Later that month Zaid ranted that “We will get rid of him, and this country is strong enough to survive even him and his supporters.”
After those tweets surfaced, Kelly could no longer defend Zaid and conceded the point that Zaid was an anti-Trump operative engaging in a partisan scheme to undo the results of the 2016 election.
“I earlier said I’ve always known @MarkSZaidEsq to be a straight shooter (he’s helped clients in situations I’ve covered, no matter whether it would hurt a D or R admin). But these tweets are clearly partisan, harshly anti-Trump & reveal an unambiguous desire to oust the prez,” Kelly declared.
