Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi’s impeachment witch hunt just took a surprising turn.
The Democrats never saw this curveball coming.
And Michelle Obama said one word about impeachment that will leave you speechless.
During an appearance on the fake news NBC “Today Show,” former First Lady Michelle Obama discussed the impeachment witch hunt against Donald Trump.
Michelle Obama tried to take the high road and claim that as divisive as impeachment was, America could knit itself back together after the Democrats finished tearing the country apart.
“It’s surreal. I don’t think people know what to make of it. But do I think we can come back from it? Oh yeah,” Obama told NBC.
In an analogy Democrats must have hated, Michelle Obama compared the impeachment witch hunt against Donald Trump to Jim Crow, the Great Depression and the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
“We’ve seen tough times in this country,” the former First Lady also stated. “You know we’ve gone through depressions and wars and bombings and terrorist attacks, and we’ve gone through Jim Crow, and we’ve always come out stronger. And that’s what we have to continue to believe because what’s our choice? To ball up in a corner and call it a day? Well that’s not fair to this next generation that’s coming before us that are counting on us to get this right.”
Political pundits noted two big takeaways from Michelle Obama’s comments.
First, Obama sought to distance herself from Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi’s disastrous impeachment hoax.
Obama tried to downplay the consequences of impeachment to try and shave off the rough edges in voters’ minds that could lead the public to punishing Democrats for sowing discord across the country with a pointless and partisan impeachment scheme.
Secondly – and more interestingly – Obama tried to strike a unifying time in a political environment that is defined by partisan trench warfare.
To seasoned political observers that sounded like a stump speech for a presidential candidate.
Polls show Democrats facing two nightmares.
Multiple new polls from key swing states show Donald Trump either moving into the lead or gaining significant ground on all of his major Democrat rivals since the impeachment witch hunt began.
In addition, no Democrat presidential candidate is breaking out from the pack and the party faces a nightmare scenario of a long and drawn out primary process that doesn’t produce a conclusive winner before the convention.
At that point in time, Democrat Party power brokers – the Super Delegates – would be called in to choose a nominee.
And party elites would be looking for a candidate that could unite all the warring factions in their coalition.
The only individual that could pacify the left and bring the establishment on board is Michelle Obama.
That’s why despite her repeated denials of harboring any presidential ambitions, the former First Lady’s attempt at a unifying public posture on impeachment leads many pundits to believe that if Democrats are deadlocked at the national convention, Obama could ride in as the white knight savior for the party.
