America is in the middle of the coronavirus outbreak.
Democrats are determined to exploit the crisis to end Trump’s Presidency.
And now Nancy Pelosi could become President because of this coronavirus meltdown.
The fake news media seized on the news of two White House staffers coming down with the coronavirus to fantasize about Donald Trump getting infected.
One of the staffers worked as press secretary to Mike Pence and that led journalists’ hearts and minds to race at the thought of both Trump and Pence incapacitated by the coronavirus and Nancy Pelosi ascending to the Presidency.
Fake news reporters peppered White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany if the administration had a plan in place for a possible President Pelosi.
McEnany shut down this liberal media fantasy.
“That’s not even something that we’re addressing,” McEnany explained to the press. “We’re keeping the president healthy. We’re keeping the vice president healthy. And you know they’re healthy at this moment, and they’ll continue to be.”
Article II, Section I, Clause 6 leaves a murky picture of who would be in charge.
“In Case of the Removal of the President from Office, or of his Death, Resignation, or Inability to discharge the Powers and Duties of the said Office, the Same shall devolve on the Vice President, and the Congress may by Law provide for the Case of Removal, Death, Resignation or Inability, both of the President and Vice President, declaring what Officer shall then act as President, and such Officer shall act accordingly, until the Disability be removed, or a President shall be elected,” the section reads.
The Constitution allows for Congress to then determine who would follow the President.
But it does not lay out who fits the definition of “Officer.”
In 1947 Congress passed the Presidential Succession Act that established that the Speaker of the House, then President Pro Tempore of the Senate and then the Secretary of State would be next in line.
That is how the media arrived at “President Pelosi” in their fantasy of both President Trump and Vice President Pence succumbing to the coronavirus.
But even that is not clear cut.
The Constitution states in Article II, Section I, Clause 6, that an “Officer” follows the Vice President in the line of succession.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo would have a claim to the Presidency since Congress determined in the 1947 Presidential Succession Act that the Secretary of State is the first actual cabinet “officer” in line to succeed the President and Vice President.
Americans are used to the fact that the fake news media hates President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.
But the fake news pouncing on two White House staffers testing positive for coronavirus – none have tested positive in the more than week since – to conjure up fantasies about Trump and Pence getting sick and dying so Nancy Pelosi could become President shows that the media moved long past simple partisan differences with the President and Vice President into something more sinister and ugly.
