With the Mueller testimony now in the rear-view mirror, Democrats are going all-out to destroy the President.
Their number one target to get at Trump is Attorney General William Barr.
And now, Nancy Pelosi just declared war on William Barr with just two words.
When Robert Mueller testified to Congress this week, Democrats were convinced that they would have the excuse they had been looking for to impeach President Donald Trump.
They couldn’t have been more wrong.
The Mueller testimony ended up blowing up in Nancy Pelosi’s face in a way that not even Republicans could have dared to hope for.
The Democrats’ plan to bring back impeachment proceedings against Trump at a future date just hit a brick wall.
But that doesn’t mean their war against the President will be ending any time soon.
As long as Trump remains President, Democrats will remain his mortal enemies.
And Pelosi is sure to make that point well-known in the coming weeks as she struggles to get over the devastating defeat the Mueller testimony dealt her and her party.
But there’s one thing Pelosi can do in the immediate future to keep a target on the President’s back.
And that’s attack his Attorney General.
Democrats have used William Barr as a proverbial punching bag to take all their anger against Trump out on ever since he was confirmed to the office he now holds.
And since taking office, Barr has had to take more arrows from Democrats than anyone in Washington aside from Trump himself.
Pelosi is showing no signs of slowing down her assault against the Attorney General anytime soon either.
And neither are her allies in Congress.
The Washington Times reports, “House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jerrold Nadler blasted the Justice Department Tuesday for sending a letter instructing special counsel Robert Mueller to ‘remain within the boundaries of your public report,’ calling it ‘incredibly arrogant.’”
Barr had tried to get Mueller to keep his testimony limited to the scope of the Russia investigation, as he knew Democrats were going to use the occasion to turn a Congressional hearing into a campaign rally for the 2020 elections.
And Democrats didn’t like that at all.
But when Nadler called the move “incredibly arrogant” he signaled that the Democrats aren’t about to let Barr go without having to put up another fight.
And those words wouldn’t have been uttered by Nadler if he wasn’t supported by his superior, Nancy Pelosi.
Pelosi knows that with the Russia investigation becoming a massive dead end for Democrats, the only way for her party to attack the President in the lead up to the election is to go through William Barr.
With the final chapter on the bogus Russian collusion hoax now more than likely officially in the history books, Barr is the only gateway to Trump that Democrats can attack.
Which means the war between the Attorney General and the Speaker of the House is only going to continue to heat up from here.
We will keep you up to date with any new developments in this ongoing story.
