Democrats are shifting the entire American legal system just to go after Donald Trump.
They’re destroying the very basis of American justice.
And Nancy Pelosi just exposed how the Democrats are changing the law with this insane statement.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., released a statement Thursday night commenting on Manhattan Alvin Bragg’s indictment of Donald Trump.
Pelosi tweeted: “The Grand Jury has acted upon the facts and the law. No one is above the law, and everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence. Hopefully, the former President will peacefully respect the system, which grants him that right.”
This is exactly the opposite of how the law works in America, but Democrats have to find a crime against Trump because they’ve already convicted him as guilty.
Many prominent members on the right blasted Pelosi on Twitter.
Rudy Giuliani, former New York City mayor and former lawyer to Trump, tweeted, “Wrong. So obviously wrong. Most Middle Schoolers know this – at least they used to, when civics and the Constitution was respected in schools. You’re innocent until proven guilty.”
Florida Rep. Kat Cammack said, “Weird, I thought the standard was ‘innocent until proven guilty.’ Welcome to Biden and Pelosi’s warped America…”
“You are embarrassing yourself @SpeakerPelosi – this case is totally political & you know it,” Fox News contributor Liz Peek wrote.
“The last time Americans had to ‘prove their innocence,’ we were governed by the British,” said comedian Tim Young.
Tom Fitton, president of conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, wrote, “Pelosi confirms malicious political prosecution by suggesting Trump is guilty until proven innocent!”
Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., said, “The right to ‘prove innocence?’ This is America, not Stalinist Russia.”
The case against Trump, regarding an alleged hush-money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels almost seven years ago, is extraordinarily weak.
Famed attorney Alan Dershowitz, who represented Trump in his first impeachment trial, told Fox News that “any first-year student could win this case if the name wasn’t Donald Trump and if it wasn’t in Manhattan.”
Dershowitz said the case “has to get out of Manhattan.”
“I would try to move it to Staten Island or some upstate venue. But could you imagine a judge or a juror coming home to their wife and family and friends and saying, ‘I’m the man, I’m the woman who let Donald Trump off.’ Nobody would ever speak to them again. … There’s no possibility he can get a fair trial in Manhattan,” Dershowitz said.
