It looks like Pelosi isn’t giving up on her efforts to seize power by any means necessary.
Because even though the November elections are less than a month away, Pelosi has new designs on taking control.
And this week Nancy Pelosi announced a new route to remove Trump from office.
The past four years have been admittedly hard for Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats.
They simply cannot get over the fact that Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016.
In fact, they were, and are still, downright furious about it.
That’s why the Democrats and their allies started the plots and schemes to remove Trump from office even before he was sworn in.
And its why, as we now know from the slew of released documents, that key members of Barack Obama’s administration, almost certainly including Joe Biden and Barack Obama, were actively involved in a plot to overthrow the President.
There have also been attempts to remove Trump for a number of other reasons and many Americans forget but there have been no less than 5 separate impeachment attempts.
And, Democrats still haven’t given up the hope of removing Trump, any way they can.
That’s why House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA 12) and Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD 8) announced legislation that, if passed, would create a “Commission on Presidential Capacity to Discharge the Powers and Duties of Office.”
Their stated goal is to try and invoke the 25th Amendment of the Constitution to enable Congress to “help ensure effective and uninterrupted leadership in the highest office in the Executive Branch of government.”
Pelosi said, “I think that the public needs to know the health condition of the president. Before he got the virus and admitted to it, when was his last negative test?”
According to the Constitution, Section 4 of the 25th Amendment allows Congress to come up with a body to declare whether a president is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.”
But, of course Pelosi’s efforts are more designed to raise doubts in the minds of undecided voters about Trump’s ability to lead, leading up to early voting and election day.
The President responded to Pelosi by tweeting out; “Crazy Nancy is the one who should be under observation. They don’t call her Crazy for nothing!”
The 25th Amendment of the Constitution actually stipulates presidential succession. But Democrats have increasingly suggested that Section 4 of the amendment should be invoked.
This section involves using involuntary measures to declare a president incapacitated.
“Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President,” according to the section in the Constitution.
That’s right. Only the Vice President can initiate such actions against the President.
Not Nancy Pelosi, and not Congress.
Of course, Pelosi and her staff know this, they are just continuing the charade to try and score political points as they fear Trump being re-elected.
