Nancy Pelosi went ballistic.
The Speaker of the House escalated her war with President Trump to an unthinkable level.
And now Nancy Pelosi threw down an ultimatum that will make Donald Trump flip out.
Muslim Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib set off a national firestorm when she told Yahoo News’ “Skullduggery” podcast that she got a “calming feeling” when thinking about the Holocaust.
Tlaib – who is Palestinian – peddled lies and hoaxes about how the Palestinian people were the true victims of the Holocaust because they sacrificed their homeland to create the state of Israel.
“There’s always kind of a calming feeling I tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors, Palestinians — who lost their land, and some lost their lives their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways — have been wiped out, and some people’s passports. And just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right? In many ways. But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them,” Tlaib declared.
This was a lie.
The Palestinians were committed to total war against the Jews and their leader at the time allied with Hitler.
President Trump called out Tlaib for her ugly remarks.
The President tweeted, “Democrat Rep. Tlaib is being slammed for her horrible and highly insensitive statement on the Holocaust. She obviously has tremendous hatred of Israel and the Jewish people. Can you imagine what would happen if I ever said what she said, and says?”
This back and forth finally prompted Nancy Pelosi to weigh in.
But instead of sanctioning Tlaib for her historically illiterate and bigoted comments, Pelosi smeared Donald Trump and the Republicans as the villains in this story.
“Republicans’ desperate attempts to smear @RepRashida & misrepresent her comments are outrageous. President @realDonaldTrump & House GOP should apologize to Rep. Tlaib & the American people for their gross misrepresentations,” Pelosi tweeted.
But no one should be surprised by Pelosi coddling Tlaib after her outrageous comments about Israel.
Anti-Semitism is the new normal for the Democrat Party thanks to their feverishly anti-Israel younger voters.
Pelosi could not even bring herself to censure Ilhan Omar by name after Omar accused Jewish Americans of having dual loyalty and that Israeli lobbyists bought off American politicians with secret stashes of money.
If the choice was between Rashida Tlaib or doing the right thing – especially if it meant siding with Donald Trump – there was no choice at all for Pelosi.
She’s picked her party over equality, tolerance, and a commitment to truth.
