Republicans just confirmed Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.
Democrats are seething with rage.
And now one letter just revealed Joe Biden will make this major change to the Supreme Court.
When Donald Trump nominated Amy Coney Barrett to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat Democrats vowed to exact revenge.
Some – like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – warned that if Democrats won the Senate as well as the White House in November Democrats would pack the Supreme Court with additional liberal justices.
Joe Biden refused to take a position on court packing and told voters he would let them know how he would handle Democrats’ demands to add new liberal justices to the Supreme Court after the election.
But Democrats have also proposed other schemes to eliminate the conservative six to three majority on the Supreme Court.
In an interview with 60 Minutes Joe Biden claimed he would appoint a “bipartisan” commission to report back within six months of Biden taking office with recommendations to “reform” the court.
Americans got a hint of what is to come when a group called “Fix the Court” issued a letter signed by 31 legal scholars endorsing legislation introduced by far left Democrat Congressman Ro Khanna, Don Beyer and Joe Kennedy III that would term limit Supreme Court Justices to 18 years on the bench.
Ted Kauffman – who heads Biden’s transition team and who was appointed to fill Biden’s Delaware Senate seat after Biden assumed the Vice Presidency – signed the letter.
“We are pleased that a formal legislative proposal to limit future justices to 18 years of high court service has been introduced and is advancing public discourse on court reform. Though the bill is not perfect, we believe it to be a critical piece in prescribing how our country’s leaders can work to depoliticize the Supreme Court and its confirmation process,” the letter read.
Fix the Court Gabe Roth also praised term limiting Supreme Court Justices.
“As the action on Supreme Court term limits moves from the halls of academia to the halls of Congress and possibly the White House, it’s critical to maintain the support of constitutional scholars, who have for decades been the most outspoken supporters of ending high court life tenure,” Ross stated that “I’m thankful for these scholars’ encouragement and am confident they’ll continue to play a role as proposals to rein in the most powerful, least accountable part of our government advance.”
Ted Kauffman signing the letter supporting term limits – which would guarantee that each President nominates two Supreme Court Justices – is a sure sign that if Biden wins the Presidency the first step Democrats will take to overturn the current conservative majority on the court.
