The Democrats believe they finally have the goods to impeach Donald Trump.
Even holdouts like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are on board.
But one poll spells doom for the Democrats’ impeachment dream.
According to a Rasmussen poll, despite an unending media blitz, the Democrats are still under water in terms of public opinion on impeachment.
Only 43% of respondents believe Trump acted inappropriately on the phone call with the newly elected Ukrainian president, and only 44% support impeachment.
The polls show that the American people have even less of an appetite for the Ukraine hoax than they did for the Russia collusion hoax.
And as was the case with the Russia narrative, people’s interest in it waned as time went on and the Democrats came up with one nothing-burger after another.
As more details about the Ukraine matter come forward, the Democrats’ case for impeachment looks even weaker.
The majority of the American people aren’t interested in another dog-and-pony show with endless hearings that go nowhere.
But that’s exactly what the Democrats are gearing up for, and the media class are all in on the circus.
It gives them something to write about while they ignore real stories and real scandal.
The timing of the impeachment inquiry should set off alarm bells for people.
The Democrats have been looking to impeach Trump literally since he first took office in January 2017.
They take their shot with pretend scandal after pretend scandal.
But they’re moving full speed ahead on impeachment for the Ukraine phone call, which they called a cover-up.
Democrats urged the Trump administration to release the alleged whistleblower complaint.
He did one even better and released a transcript of the phone call.
But Democrats moved for impeachment before they even had a chance to read the transcript.
And after the call wasn’t what they expected it to be, Democrats pushed for the release of the whistleblower complaint.
The Democrats are so unhinged, they believed a summary of the Ukrainian phone call by someone without first-hand knowledge had more substantive value than a transcript of the call itself.
The timing of all this is fishy because Attorney General William Barr is ramping up his efforts to expose the malfeasance of the Obama administration and the Deep State to spy on the Trump campaign.
And the independent assessment of the Inspector General on the Russia matter is supposed to drop soon.
The IG’s findings and Barr’s investigation will very likely bear bad fruit for the Democrats.
They’re trying to get in front of the story by distracting the American public with an impeachment hearing.
These are the games they play.
Democrats and their media allies are sowing seeds of chaos in hopes that people won’t notice their bad deeds.
For example, CNN hired disgraced Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe as an analyst.
The IG found he acted inappropriately on a number of fronts, and he was terminated.
And yet he’s supposed to be an honest broker on “the most trusted name in news.”
McCabe is the latest hatchet man who goes on television to carry water for the Democrats.
The impeachment drum beat rolls on, but the American people aren’t marching to it.
