Joe Biden’s presidency is in crisis.
Biden’s botched and blood withdrawal from Afghanistan called into question Biden’s decision making and fitness for office.
And one Senator proposed removing Joe Biden from office using this Constitutional amendment.
Florida’s anti-gun Senator Rick Scott took stock of the disturbing images coming out of Afghanistan with Taliban seizing power and Afghans mobbing the runway of the Kabul Airport to flee the country and wondered if it was time for Vice President Kamala Harris and the cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Joe Biden from office.
“After the disastrous events in Afghanistan, we must confront a serious question: Is Joe Biden capable of discharging the duties of his office or has time come to exercise the provisions of the 25th Amendment?” Scott asked on social media.
Scott – who like Biden supports laws that give Judges the right to order government agents to seize American’s firearms – tore into Biden after Biden delivered a speech blaming Donald Trump and the Afghan army for the country’s collapse instead of taking accountability for the failed execution of withdrawing American troops from Afghanistan.
The Florida Senator noted Biden also refused to take responsibility for the border and inflation crises that plague the country.
“@JoeBiden just said “the buck stops here” after spending 20 minutes blaming every other person he could think of for the disaster in Afghanistan. This is a trend. Biden ALWAYS passes the buck. He’s no Harry Truman,” Scott added.
Joe Biden pulled American troops out of Afghanistan without securing the evacuation of thousands of American citizens or Afghans that assisted the U.S. military.
Biden left them behind for the slaughter as Taliban forces began going door-to-door to search for Westerners and dissident Afghanis.
The 25th Amendment to the Constitution provides a process for the Vice President and amajority of the cabinet to declare that the President is unable to discharge his duties and must be removed from office.
The text reads:
Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.
Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department[note 2] or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office
Joe Biden’s presidency is in peril and Biden’s been in office for just seven months.
The fact that Joe Biden went into hiding for days while the greatest foreign policy humiliation in American history unfolded on his watch led an anti-gun Senator to demand the Vice President and the cabinet remove Joe Biden from office.
