The Democrats running for president should scare all Americans.
Almost all of them are in a competition to see who can go farthest to the left.
And one top Democrat is threatening to cross a line not even Obama would go near.
Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke is floundering in the Democratic primary.
In order to generate buzz, he’s trying to make himself the gun control candidate, and he’s proposing wildly unconstitutional and fascistic maneuvers.
O’Rourke said he would impose mandatory buybacks on semi-automatic rifles and confiscate guns.
But O’Rourke recently crossed the line.
In a shocking tweet, he pressured credit card companies to stop transacting on semi-automatic firearm purchases.
Liberals like O’Rourke are determined to cram through their agenda by any means necessary.
If they can’t accomplish their goals through legislation, execution, or judicial activism, liberals are now looking to bully private businesses into doing their bidding.
This is blatant fascism.
Mussolini would be proud.
Going after credit card companies and banks is the latest evolution in liberals’ underhanded tactics.
We’ve already seen right-leaning personalities have their bank accounts closed, and their Patreon fan support pages shuttered.
O’Rourke’s tactics are upping the ante.
If his disgusting gambit works, we will be one step closer to creating a parallel society, which would be deeply damaging to the country.
O’Rourke received an unusual level of support in his Senate race against incumbent Ted Cruz because Democrats thought they had a chance to flip the seat blue.
O’Rourke raised an absurd amount of money and support from Hollywood bigwigs and other wealthy liberals.
But O’Rourke lost the race as well as luster off his supposedly rising star.
Beto has quickly learned that liberals don’t like him all that much because he’s a rich, straight, white male, the bane of the left’s identity politics existence.
He’s tried and failed to explain why a rich white guy should be the head of the Democrat Party when all they care about is identity politics and putting more sectors of the economy under the thumb of government.
O’Rourke finds himself sinking in the polls, and he’s trying to make a name for himself by being boisterous.
O’Rourke constantly flails his arms and drops F-bombs to get any kind of traction.
Those antics may be annoying, but proposing fascistic actions like banning legal private transactions puts Beto in a class of his own among the wild-eyed socialists of the Democrat Party.
If O’Rourke and his comrades get their way, free speech and gun rights are on the chopping block.
Without free expression and protection against government tyranny, the American experiment is finished.
But the Democrats are so thirsty for power, they couldn’t care less.
They want to ban semi-automatic firearms, which encompasses the vast majority of firearms sold.
They also want to ban magazines that hold “multiple” bullets.
The Democrats must not be allowed to wield too much power.
They must be defeated at the polls, and their bad ideas need to be exposed to the light of day.
The stakes are too high to remain silent.
