President Trump’s critics are losing their minds.
Two years into his first term in office, they can’t stand the fact that he’s President.
And now, one critic is jobless after this fake hate crime blew up in his face.
There seems to be a race to the bottom with regard to how low of an attack Hollywood stars can wage against the President and his supporters.
But the lowest of them all is Empire star Jussie Smollett, who faked a hate crime against himself to attack Trump and advance his career.
The claim Smollett made was that two white men wearing MAGA hats, in below freezing temperatures in the middle of the night in Chicago put a noose around his neck while yelling “This is MAGA country.”
After a thorough police investigation, not only did it appear that the attack never happened, but it soon became clear that Smollett orchestrated the whole ordeal himself, in order to attack the President and his supporters and generate free publicity promoting him as a hero of the far left.
And it worked, for a while.
Until Smollett was arrested for filing a false police report.
While prosecutors eventually dropped the charges for political reasons, Smollett’s career has taken a huge tumble and it appears there’s no floor for him.
“Empire actor Jussie Smollett will no longer co-star in the Broadway revival of the play Take Me Out amid lingering charges that the performer staged a hate crime against himself, according to a report,” reports Breitbart.
While Smollett may be free, his career is collapsing around him.
Making matters worse, the Chicago Police Department is furious at Smollett, demanding he reimburses the $130,000 they have spent investigating his fake hate crime.
But Smollett probably is short on cash now that his lead roles are being cut from major productions he was scheduled to take part in.
“Jussie Smollett delivered a reading of the 2003 Tony-winning play in New York City 12 hours prior to allegedly faking a racist and anti-gay attack in downtown Chicago. The Daily Mail reported Tuesday that the 36-year-old California native has since been ‘cut’ from the play, citing the controversy surrounding the January 29th ordeal,” adds Breitbart.
Several Broadway figures were supportive of Smollett until the story broke that he had faked his own hate crime.
And now, that support has turned into confusion and frustration.
“He would have come off the sixth season of Empire and kicked off the next leg of his career with a role on Broadway. And not just that, the lead role in one of the best plays of the century in his Broadway debut. Why on earth would someone throw that all away?”, one Broadway figure stated in an interview with the Daily Mail.
Smollett may be asking those same questions now that he’s out of a major role in a job that could have helped him pay the fees that have piled up from the mess he found himself in.
We will keep you up to date with any new developments in this ongoing story.
