Donald Trump had his issues with the FBI.
All hell’s breaking loose in Washington as just months before the November election another Republican found themselves in the FBI’s crosshairs.
And now one Republican Senator stepped down after a FBI raid. This is how Trump responded.
North Carolina Republican Richard Burr is the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
Burr is also a secret anti-Trump traitor.
As Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee Burr fed the Russian collusion hoax by subpoenaing Donald Trump Jr. and never contradicting ranking Democrat Senator Mark Warner who repeatedly told the press there was evidence of Russian collusion.
Now Burr is in trouble with the FBI after allegedly selling nearly two million dollars worth of stock after receiving a classified briefing on the harm the coronavirus could inflict on the U.S. economy before the outbreak hit America.
The week after Burr sold his stock Wall Street saw an historic sell off that plunged the market 10,000 points and wiped out trillions of dollars in wealth.
Burr was in way more trouble than anyone figured.
The true level of his legal jeopardy became clear when the FBI seized Burr’s cell phone.
The Los Angeles Times exclusively reported:
Federal agents seized a cellphone belonging to a prominent Republican senator on Wednesday night as part of the Justice Department’s investigation into controversial stock trades he made as the novel coronavirus first struck the U.S., a law enforcement official said.
Sen. Richard Burr of North Carolina, the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, turned over his phone to agents after they served a search warrant on the lawmaker at his residence in the Washington area, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss a law enforcement action.
This led to Burr stepping aside as Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
“This is a distraction to the hard work of the committee, and the members and I think that the security of the country is too important to have a distraction,” Burr told the fake news media.
And many believe Burr is waiting until after September 4 to resign so there is not a special election in November to fill out the remaining two years of Burr’s term.
Even though North Carolina has a Democrat governor, state law mandates that if Burr resigns he must be replaced by a member his own party.
State Republicans select a list of three candidates and North Carolina’s Governor chooses Burr’s replacement from that pool.
Donald Trump’s been silent on this matter.
Even though Trump in the past has noted how the FBI only goes after Republicans and ignores Democrats, Burr’s enabling of the Russian collusion hoax and subpoenaing Donald Trump, Jr. erased any semblance of good will or party loyalty.
