Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg finds himself on the hot seat.
Bragg’s scheme to indict Donald Trump to boost the Democrats chances in the 2024 election is not playing out as planned.
And Alvin Bragg is going to hate to see what Jim Jordan has planned for him.
Both conservative and liberal legal analysts scoffed at Bragg’s nakedly political indictment where he tried to invent crimes Donald Trump was never charged with in order to elevate the misdemeanor of falsifying business records charge into a felony charge to bypass the statute of limitations.
House Speake Kevin McCarthy warned Bragg that Republicans planned to investigate this naked abuse of power, especially after Bragg confirmed federal taxpayer money was used to partly fund this witch hunt.
“Alvin Bragg is attempting to interfere in our democratic process by invoking federal law to bring politicized charges against President Trump, admittedly using federal funds, while at the same time arguing that the peoples’ representatives in Congress lack jurisdiction to investigate this farce. Not so. Bragg’s weaponization of the federal justice process will be held accountable by Congress,” McCarthy posted on Twitter.
Fox News host Maria Bartiromo asked House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer exactly what the next step would be for Congressional Republicans in holding Bragg accountable for weaponizing the justice system to target Donald Trump.
Comer told Bartiromo that he, Speaker McCarthy, and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan – who also chairs the Select Committee on the Weaponization of the Government – would have that discussion.
“Well, we’re going to be having a call with McCarthy later this week, Jim Jordan and myself. And we’re going to try to figure out a path moving forward. This is very serious. Alvin Bragg doesn’t even know where his funding comes from, but he gets federal funding and that’s where it falls into the jurisdiction of the House Oversight Committee. The weaponization of his office is how it falls into both the Judiciary Committee and the Select Committee on the Weaponization of the Department of Justice. So we’re, we’re not going to stop on this. Nothing changed. We believe that he’s overstepped,” Comer told Bartiromo.
Republicans have also not ruled out subpoenaing Bragg to testify.
Bragg fired off a disrespectful letter insulting Comer, Jordan, and House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil after the three Chairmen requested Bragg voluntarily turnover documents about colluding with the Biden administration on indicting Trump and to appear for an interview.
Republican voters are furious and are demanding action.
Elected Republicans feel pressure to get to the bottom of this Democrat scheme of subverting democracy by using partisan prosecutors to pick the other party’s nominee.
