Robert Mueller is the man of the hour.
The Special Counsel is expected to release his report on the 2016 election sometime later this year.
And Mueller just took a massive step towards taking down President Trump.
Robert Mueller has been patiently working towards the destruction of President Trump for two years now.
With all eyes on the Special Counsel as he prepares to wrap up his work this year, Mueller has been remaining in the shadows and out of the spotlight.
But behind the scenes, the FBI investigator has quietly been building his growing witch hunt against the President piece by piece.
And now, he’s just taken another major step towards dragging down the President.
The New York Times is reporting, “A federal appeals court on Tuesday upheld the appointment of Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel investigating ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, and ruled that a former aide to Roger J. Stone Jr., the longtime Trump adviser who was indicted last month, must testify before a grand jury.”
Mueller hasn’t really gone public about it, but the Special Counsel has been targeting those close to President Trump for months.
And with this latest news, he’s now one step closer to seeing his goal of destroying the President come to pass.
The news that an aide to Roger Stone must testify before a grand jury is a huge victory for Mueller.
Mueller’s case is clear.
He wants to use the President’s own inner circle against him.
He’s already scored other victories in the recent past, most notably the cooperation of former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen who has chosen to turn on President Trump and accuse him of directing Cohen to violate multiple federal laws.
Cohen has lied to numerous individuals in law enforcement before however, and his testimony before Congress which is soon to take place will no doubt be marred with questions related to his truthfulness.
Even so, the indictment and plea bargain Mueller got out of Cohen was a stunning victory for the Special Counsel, and now Mueller plans to go two for two with this new move against Roger Stone’s aide.
“In a unanimous ruling, a three-judge panel on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit rejected a challenge to Mr. Mueller’s authority brought by Mr. Stone’s aide, Andrew Miller, who has been resisting a subpoena since last summer. After a Federal District Court judge held him in contempt of court, he appealed,” adds the New York Times.
Mueller is no doubt hoping that he will find some sort of gem in the rough if he can force Andrew Miller to testify.
And Mueller figures that gem could be molded into the key to destroying President Trump.
It remains to be seen what sort of information Mueller is looking for out of Miller’s testimony, though based on previous actions the Special Counsel has taken, Mueller is likely seeking some sort of evidence to tie President Trump to Russian interference in the 2016 election.
This conspiracy theory has been widely popular on the left, with notable Democrats such as Maxine Waters and Adam Schiff alleging that the conspiracy is a fact.
