There’s one big question on everyone’s minds that’s just been answered.
Florida’s popular Governor has come to a serious decision.
Ron DeSantis dropped a big hint about his plans to run for President in 2024.
Straw polls are showing that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is a popular choice for presidential candidate in 2024.
His leadership of Florida during the coronavirus outbreak and his protection of freedom has been inspirational.
Both he and former PresidentDonald Trump enjoy the highest levels of popularity among Republicans.
A straw poll held at the Western Conservative Summit in Denver showed DeSantis scored a 74% approval rating and Trump came in neck-and-neck with 71%, while Texas Sen. Ted Cruz came in as a far distant third with 43%.
However, former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows told the Washington Examiner that DeSantis probably won’t run if Trump decides to run again.
“Gov. DeSantis has made it very, very clear that he is running for reelection as governor of Florida, but he doesn’t shy away from being very bold in terms of the initiatives that he’s putting forth,” the former House Freedom Caucus chairman stated, citing three days he recently spent with DeSantis in California. “His reelect for governor is a platform to show that the policies, and the boldness, and, quite frankly, the courage.”
“You know, I think Ron DeSantis is identified across the country now for the courage that he shows for conservative solutions, and he would be the first to say that if President Trump gets in, that he would win the nomination and would clear the field, and so I don’t ever see it being a 2016 primary scenario,” Meadows continued. “That being said, Gov. DeSantis won’t even — he’s asked over and over and over again every time I’m in his presence — he’s been asked, ‘Are you running in 2024?'”
“His answer has been consistent: He is running for reelection for governor of the state that not only he loves, but one that is, quite frankly, well run because of his leadership.”
Trump has said that he would consider DeSantis as a running mate.
“Sure I would … I would certainly consider Ron,” Trump told Fox Business in an interview earlier this month.
Meadows told the Washington Examiner in the past that while he expected Trump to run again not to “anticipate the announcement … in the next 30 to 60 days.”
Trump is starting back up his Make America Great Again rallies.
“President Trump’s first of many appearances in support of candidates and causes that further the MAGA agenda and accomplishments of President Trump’s administration.” Trump’s Save America PAC said in a statement.
