There is no doubt that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is the Democrats top target for defeat in November.
But Democrats are learning that is easier said than done.
That’s because Ron DeSantis heard one word that is going to destroy Democrats in 2022.
Florida Agriculture Secretary Nikki Fried is the only elected statewide Democrat.
Fried is also one of the top challengers to take on Governor DeSantis in November.
Democrats view defeating DeSantis as a top priority as the left fears DeSantis will leverage a decisive win in a big swing state like Florida as a springboard to the White House.
Fried severely damaged her chances of victory with a series of insane comments on a podcast comparing Governor DeSantis to murderous Nazi dictator Adolph Hitler.
“Instead of listening and trying to govern with the people, he is trying to govern over the people, and, you know, that, I’m sorry, I’m a student of history, too. I saw the rise of Hitler,” Fried stated.
Fried compared DeSantis looking to create his own state guard – something blue states like California have – to respond to natural disasters as comparable to Hitler’s SS.
“I have studied Hitler and how he got to power, you know, wanting his own militia,” Fried added.
Fried then descended into pathetic conspiracy mongering claiming the only reason DeSantis wanted a State Guard was so he could scapegoat federal health officials in the manner the Nazis did the Jews before the Holocaust.
“The reason why this governor wants it is different than the other states that have been utilizing it for emergency purposes,” Fried falsely claimed. “This governor is doing it for the sole purposes of power and doing so to make fear and . . . blaming certain parts of our society and culture, and that’s exactly what Hitler did to the Jews back during World War II.”
The insanity of such a statement does not even require any explanation to debunk it.
The absurdity is there on its face.
Fried then stated that while she did think DeSantis would exterminate millions in concentration camps in the same manner that Hitler carried out his evil plan to murder Jews, Fried did say she believed DeSantis was trying to accumulate and wield power in the same manner as Hitler.
“Not at all, I mean look, do I think that we are going to get to the extent of Hitler’s power?” Fried began. “Of course not, but the rise of his power and what he did to scapegoat certain parts and certainly the Jewish community in Germany and how he utilized going after the media, going after and scapegoating people and blaming people and putting fear and taking over the military. That’s what this governor is doing.”
There is a rule in life that whoever is the first person to bring up the Nazis in an argument loses.
Hitler’s evil was incomparable, and it trivializes Hitler’s horrific plan to wipe out innocent Jews by alleging anyone rises to that vile level.
If Nikki Fried is the best the Democrats have to run against Ron DeSantis in 2022 the Democrats are likely in a lot of trouble.
