If Musk rolls back Twitter’s censorship guidelines it will reduce the ability for Democrats to rig elections in their favor by controlling what news Americans could see online thanks to ideologically motivated censorship.
The left refused to rollover and Elon Musk announced that Apple threatened to remove Twitter from its app store unless Twitter agreed to censorship regiments that Democrats would support.
Twitter losing access to the Apple app store would kill Twitter as it would meaning anyone with an iPhone or iPad would no longer be able to use Twitter.
Governor DeSantis spoke out against Apple’s threat to destroy Twitter noting the hypocrisy of Apple serving the whims of the Communist Chinese government seeking to crush free speech here in America.
DeSantis blasted Apple for complying with Communist China’s demand that Apple help the government destroy the growing protest movement against COVID lockdowns by “not allowing the protesters to use this AirDrop function where [protesters in China] are trying to communicate.”
“That obviously is providing aid and comfort to the CCP,” DeSantis added.
DeSantis tore into Apple for holding a knife to Twitter’s throat because Musk intended to restore accounts banned by the previous regime that selectively enforced the site’s term of service to silence the Democrat Party’s political opposition.
“So you see that report and that’s very concerning, and then when you also hear reports that Apple is threatening to remove Twitter from the App Store because Elon Musk is actually opening it up for free speech and is restoring a lot of accounts that were unfairly and illegitimately suspended for putting out accurate information about covid,” DeSantis continued.
“Elon Musk knows that’s not a winning formula, and so he’s providing free speech,” DeSantis declared. “And so if Apple responds to that by nuking them from the App Store, you know, I think that that would be a huge, huge mistake.”
DeSantis warned that Apple obliterating Twitter would be an abuse of monopoly power so great that Congress would be justified in taking action to correct this wrong.
“It would be a really raw exercise of monopolistic power that I think would merit a response from the United States Congress,” DeSantis declared.
“So, don’t be a vassal of the CCP on one hand, and then use your corporate power in the United States on the other to suffocate Americans and try to suppress their right to express themselves,” DeSantis concluded.
