Democrats across the country were counting on the coronavirus pandemic to deliver victory in 2020.
But they have another thing coming.
Now the Supreme Court stepped in to smack one top Democrat with some really bad news.
In states across the country such as California, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin the backlash is building towards Governors’ dictator-like lockdown orders and the oppressive tactics used to enforce them.
In Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, Republican legislatures filed lawsuits against power mad Democrat Governors that are acting more like Premiers than elected public servants.
Business leaders in Pennsylvania focused their lawsuit on the arbitrary nature of Democrat Governor Tom Wolf’s shutdown order.
“[T]he Order violated the Petitioners rights not to be deprived of their property without due process of law guaranteed by the [Fifth and 14th Amendments], the right not to have their property taken without just compensation guaranteed by the [Fifth Amendment], their right to judicial review guaranteed by the [5th and Fourteenth Amendments], their right to equal protection of the law guaranteed by the [14th Amendment], and their right to free speech and assembly guaranteed by the [First Amendment],” the complaint read.
Marc Scaringi – who is representing the Pennsylvanians seeking the ability to go back to work so they can feed their families – told the press that Wolf’s order was unconstitutional because the decree locked the doors of some businesses, but allowed others to be open with no rhyme or reason given as to why.
“Part of our legal challenge is the arbitrariness and capriciousness of the list, of which industry is on which classification,” Scaringi explained. “The whole thing is fundamentally based on terms that have no clear knowing, understandable definition.”
In America, Supreme Court Justices are responsible for overseeing a Circuit Court of Appeals.
Justice Samuel Alito is responsible for emergency requests for the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and he found the claims put forth by the petitioners seeking to be set free from Governor Wolf’s imperial order legally compelling.
And Justice Alito ordered Governor Wolf to present legal arguments in defense of the order.
Now it will be up to the Supreme Court to decide if they wish to grant a stay which will block the order until the court decides to hear the case and offer a ruling.
Americans were willing to put up with a couple of weeks of lockdown to slow the spread of a virus that no one knew anything about.
But as data about how deadly it can be – and there is evidence it is nowhere near as fatal as originally thought as evidence by the chairman of emergency medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center estimated a 0.25% case fatality rate – and the mounting economic devastation, protests against these lockdown orders are growing.
In California thousands of protestors mobilized against Governor Gavin Newsom’s proposed order to close all state beaches which forced the Governor to blink.
Out in Michigan, thousands of patriots rallied on multiple occasions against tyrannical Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s fascist orders.
And now the Supreme Court is beginning to take steps to make the first moves towards ending the Democrats’ never ending lockdowns.
