Joe Biden and the Democrats plan on contesting the Presidential Election if Donald Trump wins.
The plan is for chaos nationwide.
And now Ted Cruz just revealed how the Supreme Court will decide the election winner.
Ted Cruz appeared on Breitbart News Daily to promote this new book “One Vote Away: How a Single Supreme Court Seat Can Change History.”
Cruz explained that he worked on the legal team that argued the Bush campaign’s position during the 2000 Florida recount that lasted for 36 days and ended up in front of the Supreme Court.
Back in 2000, networks called Florida and the Presidency for George W. Bush on Election Night, but Al Gore retracted his concession and Democrats demanded continual recounts in Democrat strongholds to try and overturn the results.
Eventually the Supreme Court restored common sense and put a sop the endless recounts.
In the Breitbart interview Cruz drew on this experience and noted that Democrats planned to contest the results in not just one state, but possibly four or five.
“Nobody in the in the U.S. or across the world knew who the next president was going to be, and we have a real risk in November of seeing that tenfold. Instead of just one state, we could see litigation challenging the election in three, four, [or] five states. We could see it filed by [Democratic presidential candidate] Joe Biden. We could see it filed by [President] Donald Trump. We could see it filed by both sides,” Cruz explained.
In the Bush v. Gore Supreme Court case the decision came down to a 5-4 majority stopping the recount in Florida.
Senator Cruz explained that unless the Senate filled Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat the court could deadlock four to four on an election related case and leave the result in limbo.
“It’s one of the reasons why it is so important that the Senate confirm Judge Barrett, because if the Supreme Court only has eight justices, eight justices can divide four to four,” Senator Cruz continued. “An equally divided court has no authority to decide anything. So if we have this chaos of litigation, if the Supreme Court is equally divided, there is no resolution and we’re in a constitutional crisis.”
Polls show Senator Cruz’s argument gaining traction with the public as polls show Americans favor the Senate confirming Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.
The American people need a conclusive winner to the election with results they can trust.
And without a full Supreme Court the American people may never get the closure they deserve on this election.
Fortunately Senate Republicans appear ready to take this obligation seriously by confirming Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.
