Kamala Harris is facing an intense backlash for the horrific statement she released.
There’s no excuse for her insult towards brave soldiers who give their lives for their country.
There will be hell to pay for these four grotesque words Kamala Harris said.
Memorial Day is a day to honor and mourn American heroes, military personnel who have died in the line of duty.
But instead of mentioning fallen military personnel or veterans in a tweet Saturday Vice President Kamala Harris posted a picture of herself while telling people focus on themselves.
Harris wrote along with her own picture.
“Remember when Biden & Harris promised all that ‘dignity’ if they won?” Fox News host Laura Ingraham asked in response.
Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) finished Harris’s short sentence by writing: “… and pay tribute to the courageous men and women of our nation’s military who sacrificed their lives in defense of our freedoms and liberties.”
“This is unreal,” wrote Newsmax contributor and retired U.S. Marine Corps gunnery sergeant Jessie Jane Duff. “No regard or gratitude for the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our great nation. Could you possibly be more obtuse, @VP?”
“Comforting words to the families of those that lost loved ones in service to our country. With a picture of herself for good measure,” wrote Arthur Schwartz. “Imagine the meltdown that @jaketapper would be having if Donald Trump tweeted this.”
Even an editor of a military news site took the time to call out Kamala Harris.
“Real misfire here. It is a long weekend. It’s also Memorial Day weekend, which means far more that our government officials should acknowledge: a time to remember and honor the millions of Americans who lost their lives in our nation’s defense.” Paul Szoldra, editor of military news site Task & Purpose, wrote on Twitter.
One Twitter user noted a family member who wouldn’t be able to “Enjoy the long weekend.”
“This is my Uncle Walter, Madame Vice President.” wrote Nate Hale. “He won’t be enjoying the ‘long weekend’ because he was KIA at Peleliu in September 1944, advancing with his fellow Marines to take the island’s airfield. Obliterated by an enemy artillery shell. He had just turned 18.”
Over six hundred brave soldiers have paid the ultimate price to protect American freedom and they deserve to be remembered.
After the backlash Harris tried to do damage control on Sunday.
“Throughout our history our service men and women have risked everything to defend our freedoms and our country. As we prepare to honor them on Memorial Day, we remember their service and their sacrifice.” Harris wrote in the Sunday post.
