Andrew Cuomo has outlived his usefulness to the Democratic Party.
They aren’t willing to protect him any longer.
These five words destroyed Andrew Cuomo’s last hope of silencing his sex scandal.
For months Gov. Andrew Cuomo was hailed as the gold standard for his response to the Covid pandemic.
Despite the well known fact that he wasn’t releasing the true number of nursing home deaths Cuomo was given a place of prominence at the DNC.
Democrats loved Cuomo because he would go on TV and blame former President Donald Trump for all the problems that New York was facing.
Now that Joe Biden is president Andrew Cuomo has no one to blame for his own failures.
He’s facing a serious scandal involving allegations that he hid nursing home death numbers to avoid a federal investigation which has New York politicians considering an impeachment investigation.
And that isn’t the only scandal Cuomo is facing.
Cuomo’s former aide Lindsey Boylan detailed allegations of sexual harassment published on Medium on Wednesday morning.
Boylan said that Cuomo forcibly kissed her on the lips in his office in 2018 and made suggestive sexual comments on a regular basis.
“Let’s play strip poker,” Boylan remembers Cuomo saying to her aboard a government jet in October, 2017.
Cuomo “created a culture within his administration where sexual harassment and bullying is so pervasive that it is not only condoned but expected” and “used intimidation to silence his critics,” Boylan wrote, adding that, “if you dared to speak up, you would face consequences.”
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Thursday that the woman accusing Cuomo “should be heard, not silenced.”
“The president has been consistent in his position, when a person comes forward, they deserve to be treated with dignity and respect,” Psaki said. “Their voice should be heard, not silenced, and any allegation should be reviewed.”
Cuomo denied the allegations.
“Look, I fought for and I believe a woman has the right to come forward and express her opinion and express issues and concerns that she has,” he said during a press conference. “But it’s just not true.”
The mainstream media is limiting their coverage of the story.
The evening Boylan published her allegation none of the broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) covered the allegations.
It took weeks for the mainstream media to notice the allegations from Biden’s former staffer Tara Reade who accused Biden of sexually assaulting her. But even then a single denial by Biden was enough for them to drop the story.
The Democrats say “women should be heard” but the reality is that they are only willing to take the scandals seriously when it’s politically convenient.
