Fox News Channel used to be the one news source in the so-called “mainstream” media that Americans could trust to give President Trump a fair shake.
But as the impeachment witch hunt dragged on viewers noticed something different about Fox News Channel.
And these six words revealed one scary change at Fox News that has Trump nervous.
When Adam Schiff ran his Stalinist show trial impeachment hearings, Fox News did not put legal analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano on the air.
Napolitano discredited himself during the Mueller probe by offering up a false and outlandish “analysis” accusing Donald Trump of crimes.
Fox News used former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy and former Whitewater special prosecutor Ken Starr as their chief legal analysts.
Fox’s critics in the liberal media accused the top rated cable news network of putting pro-Trump commentators on and benching the anti-Trump Napolitano to hide from their viewers the political peril the President faced.
That was not true.
Napolitano discredited himself during the Mueller probe with repeated inaccurate and doom and gloom predictions about Robert Mueller having the goods on the President.
With the impeachment stakes being so high, Fox had a responsibility to best inform its viewers and that meant putting analysts on the air that would offer informed and accurate commentary, neither of which Napolitano can provide.
But Fox bowed to their critics for the Judiciary Committee’s impeachment circus.
Napolitano appeared as an on-air analyst and promptly praised the Democrats and the handpicked leftwing academics for building a supposedly airtight case on impeachment.
“I believe that the Democrats have credibly argued that he committed impeachable offenses. The easiest one, because this existed in Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon, and Bill Clinton — is obstruction of Congress,” Napolitano declared.
Napolitano argued the Democrats’ strongest case for an article of impeachment was on obstruction of Congress after the President ordered the administration not to comply with Democrats’ subpoenas.
“So by directing his subordinates to refuse to comply with the lawfully-issued subpoenas—whether it’s for testimony or for documents—that’s an impeachable offense. We know that from history. Every time the House of Representatives has looked at that, with respect to a President, it has found it to be impeachable. On that, reasonable minds cannot disagree without rejecting history, rejecting Constitutional norms,” Napolitano added.
America’s Newsroom host Bill Hemmer asked Napolitano if that meant he would vote to impeach Donald Trump if Napolitano was a member of Congress.
“I certainly would on — well, I’ll never be in the House. But I would on that count,” Napolitano replied.
“But on that count I would” were six words no Fox News viewer thought they would hear about someone on the network supporting the obviously partisan and fake articles of impeachment.
Fox critics baited the network into reaching Napolitano on the air because polls show there is a tiny subset of Republican voters that haven’t made up their minds on impeachment.
Since Fox is a network trusted by everyday Americans, fake news media members hoped that Napolitano bombarding these persuadable voters with a steady barrage of pro-impeachment propaganda from a trusted news source would push them to support removing President Trump from office.
