Barack Obama spent years appeasing the radical Islamic government in Iran.
That just blew up in his face.
And this big Barack Obama mistake with Iran may have just kickstarted World War 3.
During his second term, Obama made reaching a nuclear deal with Iran the prize above all else.
In 2015, Obama reached a “deal” with the fanatical Islamists in charge of Iran to put its country on a 10-year glide path to one day obtaining a nuclear weapon.
In addition, Obama funneled over 100 million dollars in taxpayer funds into the bank account of the Iranian government – which is one of the leading state sponsors of Islamic terrorism in all the world.
During the 2016 campaign, Donald Trump promised the free ride for the rogue Iranian government was over.
The President made good on his word when he withdrew the United States from Obama’s disastrous Iran nuclear deal.
President Trump also tried to force Iran back to the bargaining table by reinstituting the economic sanctions Obama had eliminated.
Iran spent decades making deals with weak American Presidents capped off by Obama’s eight-year run of appeasement.
In early May, Iran tried to escalate tensions by attacking four oil tankers in the Persian Gulf to push President Trump to adopt Obama’s posture of weakness.
President Trump responded by deploying three thousand U.S. troops to the region and dispatching one aircraft carrier group.
But Iran still did not get the message.
The Islamic radicals that run Iran launched their most serious provocation yet.
This week, two more tankers were damaged in the Persian Gulf in explosions that forced the crews to abandon ship.
Oil prices rose three percent on the fear of war between Iran and the United States.
The Trump administration blamed Iran for the attacks with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stating that, “Taken as a whole, these unprovoked attacks present a clear threat to international peace and security.”
Observers believe Iran staged the attacks to drive up oil prices to demonstrate the crippling economic effect war would have.
If oil process rise, Americans will drive less, which will lead to fewer goods and services being purchased, ultimately resulting in an economic slowdown.
These attacks occurred on the day Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe traveled to Iran to press the rogue government to negotiate with the United States and not start a war.
The President responded that this effort was futile because Iran clearly wanted to see how far they could push the envelope and was in no mood to negotiate.
President Trump tweeted that, “While I very much appreciate P.M. Abe going to Iran to meet with Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, I personally feel that it is too soon to even think about making a deal. They are not ready, and neither are we!”
Iran badly miscalculated.
President Trump will not follow Barack Obama’s path of weakness.
The only question now is will the Iranian government come to its senses and back down before the situation truly spirals out of control.
We will keep you up to date on any new developments in this ongoing story.
