Democrats are scrambling into damage control mode.
One of the midterm election races just went down in flames.
That’s because this bombshell undercover video could get one key Democrat kicked off the ballot.
South Carolina State Representative Krystle Matthews is the Democrat nominee for Senate running against incumbent Republican Tim Scott.
Tim Scott is a RINO who supports gun control, the Black Lives Matter narrative on police, and torpedoed one of Donald Trump’s conservative judicial nominees by teaming up with the Democrats on a fake racial controversy.
But now Matthews is facing calls from her own party to drop out of the race after Project Veritas produced hidden camera video of Matthews making racist comments about white people.
Matthews – who is black – told the Project Veritas undercover journalists that she represents a “mostly white” district and that “I keep them right here — like under my thumbs. … Otherwise, they get out of control — like kids.”
Matthews described profanely that she got her white constituents to respect her was through disrespecting them.
“You ought to know who you’re dealing with,” Matthews stated. “You’ve got to treat them like s—-. That’s the only way they’ll respect you.”
Democrat Gubernatorial nominee Congressman Joe Cunningham led the way in calling for Matthews to step down from the race due to her bigoted comments.
Other prominent South Carolina Democrats quickly fell into line.
Democrat State Representative Justin Bamberg published an op-ed stating that if a white representative got caught making similar remarks about black South Carolinians their career would be over that instant.
“If any of our white counterparts had said the same thing with regards to blacks, the minority community, including myself, would be up in arms calling for that member’s immediate resignation,” Bamberg wrote.
“When candidates of either party start making irresponsible statements, beyond what party they’re from, they need to reevaluate their candidacy, and that’s what needs to happen here,’ Democrats State Senate leader Brad Hutton declared.
Catherine Fleming Bruce – one of the Democrats who lost to Matthews in the primary – said that Matthews “has made it impossible for her to be that standard bearer, representing our state’s diverse population.”
South Carolina State Democrat Party chairman Trav Robertson urged her to drop out of the race telling the Associated Press that “If I were advising her campaign, I would focus on her getting reelected to the (state) House of Representatives.”
South Carolina was not a top tier Democrat target this year.
But South Carolina is the state Democrats want to delude themselves into thinking that favorable demographics – a high concentration of black voters and college educated whites – will eventually push into their column.
That will not happen for a variety of reasons least among them is running incompetent candidates like Krystal Matthews who make racist remarks.
