No one thought the news could get worse.
But it has.
Now, this horrifying revelation about Cuomo has shaken people to their core.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo seems to be breaking down completely.
He’s already under intense investigation from the FBI due to the nursing home scandal, and now a new scandal has emerged on top of that one.
Lindsey Boylan, a former aide to Cuomo, has come forward with allegations of sexual harassment against the governor.
She was his deputy security for economic development and a special advisor.
She stated that during her time as his aide, there was a “pervasive” culture of “sexual harassment and bullying.”
She described the harassment as the governor would “go out of his way to touch me on my lower back, arms and legs” and that he had kissed her on the lips.
This alone is disturbing, but Boylan says it did not stop there.
She also said he compared her to his old girlfriend and said they could be sisters but she was the “better looking sister.”
In addition, Boylan said she had been warned by other staffers to “be careful around the Governor.”
Of course, Cuomo’s spokespeople have denied all these allegations, going so far as to try and prove the two were on different planes when Boylan said the harassment took place.
However, the dam has cracked and now the investigation against all of Cuomo’s wrongdoings are finally coming to light.
There are those who asked why these allegations are being voiced now, instead of when the harassment occurred.
RedState writer Nick Arama stated why this scandal is just now coming to light:
“But now that that’s happened and people believe that finally the wall of protection around Cuomo has finally cracked, that’s opened the floodgates, with more people now willing to come forward to alleged abuse by Cuomo. My colleague Sister Toldjah reported earlier about former City and State editor in chief Morgan Pehme said he’d been threatened by Melissa De Rosa, Cuomo’s secretary and that everyone seemed to have a Cuomo story of how they’d been pulled, with stories quashed because people were fearful of coming up on the bad side of Cuomo.”
Afraid of the governor’s wrath, Boylan and many others kept silent about their tormentor.
But now that the foundation has cracked and Cuomo is exposed, they finally have the courage to come forward and report their stories.
If the nursing home scandal wasn’t enough, this scandal has unleashed a new wave of backlash against the governor, with many rightly calling for his immediate resignation.
Ron T. Kim tweeted:
“Cuomo is a coward who has abused his powers. His pattern of abuse and harassment toward his aides, journalists, lawmakers, and critiques is despicable. As a lawmaker, I have the duty to hold him accountable. I will not stand down. I will stand with Lindsey Boylan.”
And many others agreed with his statement.
We will have to wait and see what comes of the investigation and what becomes of the disgraced governor.
