Trey Gowdy has some bad news for the Democrats.
Democrats think they are primed for a big win in 2020.
But Trey Gowdy went on TV and just put the final nail in the coffin for Democrats in 2020 with this truth bomb.
The biggest story in the Democrat Party race is the party realizing the extreme socialist ideology of Bernie Sanders will doom them in 2020.
Party leaders raced to endorse Joe Biden after his massive win in the South Carolina primary.
Voters picked up the hint and 48 hours later on Super Tuesday, Biden stampeded to victory in Texas, Alabama, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Prior to the Super Tuesday primaries, former South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy appeared on Dana Perino’s Fox News program and offered a preview of why Sanders would fall short in the upcoming contests.
Gowdy explained to Fox News viewers that Sanders was just too extreme.
As evidence, Gowdy noted in the South Carolina debate Sanders explained that his answer to poverty in black and Hispanic communities was to legalize drugs and let minorities sell narcotics.
“We’re going to provide help to the African-American, Latino, Native American community to start businesses to sell legal marijuana rather than let a few corporations control the legalized marijuana market,” Sanders told the debate audience.
“His idea for the inner city youth is for them to legally sell marijuana,” Gowdy told Perino.
Gowdy claimed Sanders’ idea would create the next Pablo Escobar – the infamous Colombian cartel cocaine dealer who became a household name in the ‘80s – but instead wanted to hold up positive role models for America’s youth to look up to.
“I don’t want the next Pablo Escobar, so if Bernie’s idea for employment in the inner city is for everyone to get stoned and listen to Pink Floyd, that’s not going to work in South Carolina,” Gowdy added.
Gowdy also ripped Sanders’ socialist ideology as un-American.
“When we hear socialism, we hear the guaranteed outcome,” Gowdy added, “and what we really want is a guaranteed fighting chance.”
Ultimately, Democrats agreed with Gowdy about Sanders and his prospects for victory.
Democrat voters paralyzed themselves in the initial state primary and caucus contests trying to decide which candidate stood the best chance of defeating Donald Trump.
A divided field allowed Sanders to win the most votes in Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada because he owned base that would not leave him no matter what.
However, Sanders’ support stood at just 25 to 30 percent of the party and never seemed to grow much beyond that ceiling.
Once party leaders realized that Gowdy was telling the truth and that Sanders stood little chance of winning the election, they quickly coalesced around Joe Biden.
That establishment rally led to a massive surge in support for Biden that exceeded all expectations.
