The second Democrat Presidential debate was a circus.
And it all went off the rails thanks to Colin Kaepernick and his anti-American national anthem protests.
And what this top Democrat did during the national anthem will leave you red with rage.
Heading into the debate, many pundits expected one Democrat looking to break out from the pack to mimic Colin Kaepernick’s anti-American protests and kneel during the Star-Spangled Banner.
Texas Congressman Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke – whose polls plummeted to the low single digits and saw his fundraising dry up – sent out signals that he would be the one to kneel during the national anthem.
Before the debate he let the press know that he invited three Michigan high school football players who knelt during the national anthem to attend the debate in Detroit.
“I was a senior. I was getting to the age where I wanted to say something,” Michael Lynn III – one of the anthem protesters O’Rourke invited to the debate – told the press.
“People on the other side of it make us feel like we’re not as American as them,” Lynn added. “The fact that he said that and feels that way, from his heart, that was really powerful. That’s what put Mr. O’Rourke on my radar.”
O’Rourke shot to national prominence in his Texas Senate campaign against Ted Cruz after a viral video exploded on the internet of O’Rourke defending spoiled millionaire athletes engaging in anti-American protests during the playing of the national anthem before National Football League games.
But O’Rourke did not kneel during the anthem.
The only protest was offered by Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan.
Ryan was the only candidate on stage that did not put his hand over his heart during the playing of the national anthem.
Congressman Ryan later defended his actions and claimed he wasn’t protesting the national anthem.
Ryan’s campaign emailed out a statement that claimed “Congressman Ryan wasn’t protesting and didn’t mean to make any statement last night in Detroit,” during the playing of the national anthem.
Ryan’s campaign also tried to say Ryan just plain forgot and not putting his hand over his heart was a “moment of absentmindedness while on a debate stage that won’t happen again,” and the statement added that Ryan was “in fact, singing along with the choir to honor our country.”
“Congressman Ryan loves our country and will continue to honor the flag during the anthem in future events, as he has in countless events in the past,” the statement continued.
Whatever Ryan’s true intentions were, not putting his hand over his heart during the national anthem infuriated millions of Americans.

Rep. Tim Ryan didn’t put his hand over his heart during the national anthem. I guess he’s appealing to the Kaepernick wing of the Democratic Party.

Democrats polling at zero or one percent in the primary polls desperately need a breakout moment and they need it soon.
Unless they achieve two percent support in two qualifying polls they will be left out of the September Democrat debate.
That will effectively be the end of their campaign.
So it would not surprise anyone if a Democrat tried to cause a stir and bring attention on themselves by kneeling during the national anthem.
