The 2016 election left Michelle Obama speechless.
Until now the former First Lady never confessed her true feelings about what happened on Election Night when Donald Trump won the Presidency.

Netflix recently premiered a documentary produced for the streaming giant based on former First Lady Michelle Obama’s memoir “Becoming.”
In the documentary Michelle Obama offers up her unvarnished thoughts on the 2016 election.
Obama claimed she fought to repress her true feelings because Obama claimed she lived under a microscope as the first black First Lady.
But in her telling, Obama blamed Democrat core voters such as blacks, young people and women for not turning out in sufficient numbers to win the election going so far as to call it a “slap in the face” that voters who enthusiastically supported her husband did not show up at the polls for Hillary Clinton.
“It takes some energy to go high, and we were exhausted from it. Because when you are the first black anything…” Obama told the filmmakers. “So the day I left the White House and I write about how painful it was to sit on that [inauguration] stage. A lot of our folks didn’t vote. It was almost like a slap in the face.”
Obama also went on to blame Democrats not turning out for the historic midterm defeats Democrats suffered in 2010 and 2014.
“I understand the people who voted for Trump,” Obama continued. “The people who didn’t vote at all, the young people, the women, that’s when you think, man, people think this is a game. It wasn’t just in this election. Every midterm. Every time Barack didn’t get the Congress he needed, that was because our folks didn’t show up. After all that work, they just couldn’t be bothered to vote at all. That’s my trauma.”
Michelle Obama’s comments come as polls shows record low levels of enthusiasm among Democrat voters for Joe Biden’s candidacy.
Other polls show buyer’s remorse.
A recent Morning Consult poll found 26 percent of Democrats want to replace Biden as the nominee.
The vast majority of Democrats would name Michelle Obama as their top choice to swap in for Biden.
Michelle Obama’s increasing public profile – highlighted by this Netflix documentary – will only fuel the feelings of “what might have been” among the many Democrats that wished Michelle Obama ran for President, but settled for Joe Biden because in a field of socialists, gadflies and grossly incompetent and unqualified social justice warriors Biden stood as “safe and electable.”
But many Democrats worry that elections in modern day America are contests of base turnout.
The party that wins the election is the side with the most passionate and committed supporters.
And in this election that edge goes to the Republicans.
If Democrats think this election is in the bag because the polls currently favor Joe Biden then all they have to do is ask Michelle Obama about the 2010, 2014 and 2016 elections.
