A top Democrat is attacking Republicans with wild and outrageous claims.
This attack backfired in a spectacular way that he didn’t see coming.
You won’t believe how this Democrat accidently called himself a fascist.
The new Democrat talking point is that Republicans are fascists. President Joe Biden said that Republican proposals “semi-fascism” and that “MAGA Republicans” were a threat to American democracy.
Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-MD) defended Biden’s remark were justified during a Sunday appearance on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” stating that the failure to accept the results of an election was a “hallmarks” of a fascist party.
“Two of the hallmarks of a fascist political party are, one, they don’t accept the results of elections that don’t go their way, and two, they embrace political violence. And I think that’s why President Biden was right to sound the alarm this week,” he added.
The problem is that Raskin himself hasn’t always accepted elections results. In January of 2017 Raskin argued before a joint session of Congress to certify the 2016 presidential election that the votes cast by electors from the state of Florida should not stand.
Then Vice President Joe Biden struck down the move that could not be received, stating, “Please come to order. The objection cannot be received.” For the objection to have been received it would have had to been signed by a member of the Senate in order to force a Senate vote on the challenge.
Raskin also claimed that former President George W. Bush didn’t win the 2000 presidential and had been appointed by the Supreme Court.
Many Democrats have denied election results.
Hillary Clinton said that the 2016 election was “stolen” from her. Stacey Abrams claimed she lost her Georgia gubernatorial race due to voter “suppression.” Former Vice President Al Gore, in a Washington Post interview two years after his presidential defeat to George W. Bush, said, “I believe that if everyone in Florida who tried to vote had had his or her vote counted properly, that I would have won.”
For decades Democrats have claimed that elections were rigged against them yet when Republicans bring valid concerns over to 2020 election, due to the massive increase in insecure mail in ballots, Democrats claim that is one of the “the hallmarks of a fascist political party.”
Raskin has ignored all the traditional definitions of fascism and instead uses metrics that are so broad that they could just as easily be applied to Democrats.
But while there clearly is a double standard the scary part is that Democrats are labeling Republicans as, not just people with different values and opinions, but as enemies to America.
Democrats are engaging in dangerous rhetoric that will lead to the breakdown of American society if they don’t stop vilifying half of American voters.
